So last night I was interrupted by several IMs from ruri:

Of course I was really happy to see that, since these GM tourneys are rare as hell and the last 200 men tourney had awesome rewards like Fairy Wings for the Luck Award winner!

So we all headed off to Quma 1, first game filled up instantly. I did not get in, Ruri and Mygo did. About 5 seconds later both are complaining about being kicked from the room – the GM had decided to shut down and re-open the whole room. Sadly this time none of us got in since the room filled up all 200 slots in less than two seconds:

We all waited hoping that the GMs would run another tourny when this one finishes.. instead we all got disconnected?!

So we all were pretty happy, assuming that the tourney (along with the whole server) died and the GM would likely reopen a new one and we could all use our second (third?!) chance to get in.

While the whole lobby was complaining about having received a quit from Quma server dying the GMs replied with this ticker:

Testing?! Bug?! What the fuck. Honestly Ntreev, this one did not go too well. At least I am not pissed anymore about not getting in!

While I had been warned to not ever check out the Ntreev USA Pangya forums by various Trickster veterans, I still went there now and then to read what is going on sometimes.

With all the pretty low intelligence posts, begging for the server to open, stupid bullshit and attention whoring, today I noticed something that totally takes the cake.

Please be advised that the poster above is so advanced that even imageblock or any of the other methods mentioned above will still keep you with a blank signature of about 350 pixels due to spamming the return button about 15 times for their signature.

It seems Ntreev is putting a lot of effort into spreading the word that they now run Pangya. For some reason it seems that Hanbit did not yet transfer them the Pangya.com domain. So about two weeks ago Ntreev asked in a news post:

Please all go to Naver.com and search for “Pangya”. Then when you see the results please click the Pangya.Ntreev.com one, not the Pangya.com one. Repeat this when you can!

What a lousy attempt at SEO. Currently they are even running an event in which GM Rami chooses the best Pangya related blog or website. While this might actually be a nice event for those running Korean blogs about Pangya the actual reason for this is obviously to generate back-links.

In their newest attempt of improving their rank for the new Pangya website they have finally changed the watermark that gets drawn onto every screenshot.

But.. Oops.. Ntreev.Pangya.com? Almost guys, just swap it and its correct. Maybe this is not a silly mistake of not actually knowing their own URL? Maybe they want people who see the screenshot to enter Ntreev+Pangya into Naver to further improve their search rankings? Yeah right! Go and fix the watermark!

Seriously Ntreev, there’s so many articles, software and even hundreds of books out there on SEO. Do yourself a favor and read some of it. In the meantime I guess proper SEO will arrive in Korea around the same time when they learn to abandon IE6. See you all in 2019!

Here are some updates that occured during the week.

I finally improved my Ice Spa record! While this is one of those courses that I absolutely dislike playing I managed to shoot a -43 today with 3 missed strokes. Maybe one day I can still improve it further.

In other news we have found out that Korea does not seem to like the Hard Gay outfit for Max. If you use it and manage to get first place in a tournament it will not show the actual outfit but rather show a blank Max with plain white wife-beater shirt and his red pants. Whoopsy was not very happy to hear about this, since he just filled up his Hard Gay outfit with control cards.

I wonder if this is actually a bug or a new feature that Ntreev introduced. Who knows.. Ntreev does a lot.. especially putting the server into maintenance mode. But its all good and I will try to be patient.

Arin, Hana and.. errr.. I mean some Online Kart Steer characters on the beach.

A while ago (actually probably around 3 years ago?) I signed up to a new game published by Gamepot: Online Kart Steer.

Back then I was thinking how much the character art reminded me on Pangya. However I never actually got a chance to try out the game. Today Gamepot sent me a newsletter advertising the new features on Online Kart Steer and I actually had to laugh.

Apparently the game now has a chat room option too in which users can.. run around and open shops. Oh!

It seems that Gamepot is assuming that its better to simply copy all the good things from Pangya instead of making new stuff. While Pangya surely does borrow a lot from other games already the similarities between Kart Steer and Pangya seem quite obvious. If you are not convinced yet check out the screen below. Hah.

I guess huge breasts, school uniforms and underage girls in swimsuits will always be a good way to sell any online game in Japan.

While browsing the official website I have found some more pretty convincing screens: Arin with manhands, Arin and Son Goku, There are no fingers in this game but atleast there are boobs.

As of 2/26/09 we will be closing the Albatross18 section of our forums. We appreciate all of your contributions over the years and hope that you will continue to enjoy our other games.

While this decision is certainly understandable since the forum pretty much died out because there is nothing to talk about anymore and all posts about Ntreev USA are getting deleted, I am wondering more about the date. February 26th is also the date when Ntreev Korea will start taking signups for the Korean Pangya transfer. I wonder if Ntreev is using fixed dates for all important events regarding their licensing? If so we can probably look forward to a new posting on the Ntreev website on the 26th. On a sidenote – OGP please just shove your other games up your ass and stop trying to advertise them in every single post. This is getting pretty annoying.

So the other day I had finished the Korean event and filled up everyones hearts. Sadly it took me that long to realize that this stick is freaking annoying. It just looks plain weird and stupid. Not to mention that it just stays there even with the open mouth animations. What the amazing tongue skills?!

Seriously though.. I’m not going to wear this crap anymore. If a girl was doing this in real-life can you imagine how annoying it would be? I would probably have a hard time to resist giving in to the desire to slap her. Seriously, just eat the freaking stick already. This is just disgusting and annoying! Argh!

I forgot to post about this earlier since it did not really bother me much I guess.

After all the lies OGPlanet has finally announced that they will be shutting down Albatross18 on March 10.

Since I saw this coming since months I’m not really concerned about this much.

I guess Zepy will be forever the #1 of Windhill unless some hacker beats him during the upcoming hackfest. Congratulations for holding the alltime Windhill record, you sick bastard.
